Welcome to Marshlands Primary School.

Welcome to Miss Millar's & Mr Molloy's class

Our topic this term is Victorians.  We will be finding out about the lives of Victorian children.

Our literacy this term will involve looking more closely at how stories   are created.  It will also involve reading and writing poetry.  As we near Christmas we will study Charles Dickens’ Christmas Carol. In maths we continue to focus on calculation.  If you can help your child practice their times tables regularly it would help them with their class work.  In Science we are thinking about keeping healthy. Our PE days are Thursday and Friday.  PE this term will be hockey and orienteering outside when ever the weather is good enough, so the children will need to bring an outdoor PE kit such as a track suit and t-shirt or jogging pants, sweatshirt and a t-shirt as well as

Clean Slate visited school, and our class had to experience what is was like to be a school child during the Victorian period.

I liked writing on the slates, but I don’t think I would like to use them all the time!

I had a really good time being a Victorian school child for the afternoon. My favourite bit was when we had to do drill and exercise.

We have been making bread in Year 5. We made some white bread and some brown bread. It tasted delicious!

You can download the recipe from the link at the bottom of this page.
